Brittany Mobley, Esq.
Deputy Chief, Juvenile Services Program, Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia; Board Member, BPDA
Brittany Mobley is a dedicated juvenile defender and racial justice advocate whose work centers the needs and dignity of court-involved youth in Washington, D.C. She serves as Deputy Chief of the Juvenile Services Program at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Before that role, Brittany was a senior attorney in the Guardian ad Litem Program at the Children’s Law Center, where she represented children in the family regulation system for four years.
A graduate of Howard University School of Law, Brittany has deep roots in youth defense, having served as a student attorney in the Criminal Justice Clinic and as a law clerk for PDS’s Juvenile Services Program and Community Reentry Program. Brittany sits on the Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness Advisory Council, serves as Co-Chair of the ABA Juvenile Justice Committee, and is an advisory board member for the Mid-Atlantic Juvenile Defender Center. She is a founding member and National Secretary of the Black Public Defender Association.
Brittany is also a proud alumna of the 2021 Ambassadors for Racial Justice cohort, a nationally recognized program co-hosted by the Georgetown Juvenile Justice Initiative and The Gault Center that prepares youth defenders and advocates to lead racial justice work in their jurisdictions.
