Ieshaah Murphy is an Assistant Professor of Law at Howard University School of Law, where she teaches Evidence, Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure. She is a founding member and Training Director of the Black Public Defender Association (BPDA), developing and leading race-conscious trainings for defenders nationwide. A former public defender and civil rights attorney, she previously directed the Criminal Defense and Racial Justice Clinic at UDC Law and served at the Public Defender Service for D.C. and the ACLU of Maryland.
